Philips Xenium Android Phone shows it is serious about Smartphones business!

Panasonic, Videocon, Samsung and "n" number of former White Goods majors have made it big or are in the mode of making it big in the Smartphone market and it is natural that Philips would follow suit sooner or later, and we must say that they are creating ripples.

Their first major release earlier this month say a monstrous battery of 3300mAH powering the first Xenium phone the W8510 which gave it talk time of almost 4 days and 35 days stand by!

The device was no looker however and yet had a 4.7 inch 720p (1280*720p) HD screen, MT6589 1.2Ghz Quad Core, 1GB of RAM and came equipped with an 8MP primary camera and 2MP front facing camera.

The next device we got hands on photos of which is a beauty of a phone atleast in the design department with colours distinctly reminding us of the Nokia Lumia Line up.The Philips Xenium (meaning gift to a stranger) W6500 is a beautiful phone and the design is a unique one that shies away from the standard rectangle/rounded edge design that dominate smartphone nowadays.

The Dual tone between the black and the combo of either Yellow/Red/Green/White is pleasing to the eye and reminds us of the design cues in popular bikes nowadays.

While no software details are out yet based on the W8510 it would be say that we can expect a 4-4.5 inch phone with QHD/HD resolution, MT6589 Quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 8-5MP Camera and Android 4.2 to come on the Philips Xenium

No news if the Xenium would make landfall in India though this is one phone we would love to see it released for its beautiful design, originality and durability.
