MS Office coming to Android and iPhone soon!

A leaked Microsoft Office roadmap shows that the ubiquitous productivity suite is due to land on Android and iOS in October of 2014. There were also rumors of an iPad-friendly version of Office a few days ago.

The leak also indicates that touch-friendly Blue updates for Word, Excel PowerPoint and OneNote are due to appear for Windows 8 by October of this year. 

Will Microsoft Gain its title back?

There is also news that April of 2014 is set to deliver a new version of Office for Mac and Windows phone, and it looks like Microsoft Outlook will finally land on Windows RT by the fall of 2014.

We are not too excited with this prospect as Microsoft is known to price its Offic products extremely high and this might be the case here too. In case of Android you would find the Android Play Store littered with Office alternatives some of which have completed several generations of upgrades. Lets see if Microsoft snatches its title of undisputed king of Office suite back from these smaller players with these updates.
