UMI XE: Dated specs+Big Battery+Budget pricing of 4999INR (91.62USD)= Low end T-Rex??

UMI seems to be determined to do a Samsung in India. First came the UMI X2, then the X1-S, A rumored tablet and now a low end phone with clearly outdated specs but enough firepower to smoke out the low end droids in any segement say hello to the UMI XE.

Dated specs mated wit Android 4.0, a low end segment T-Rex??

The specs of this device are pretty spartan and includes

• A MTK6517, 1.0GHz Processor running Android 4.0 OS,

• 5.0 Inch TFT, capacitive touch screen, 800 x 480 Pixels 

• 128MB ROM + 256MB RAM

• Dual SIM Card Dual Standby 

• 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz (No 3G)

• Front 0.3 MP + Back 2.0 MP camera with flashlight and auto focus 

• WIFI + Bluetooth + Gravity Sensor + FM

• Multilanguage

• 2050mAH Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

This is however in no way less impressive when compared to low end offerings like the Micromax Bolt series, or Samsung Rex series. The stand out features being the huge battery of 2050 mAH and Wi Fi support. 

Sadly 3G seems to be missing and 256MR Ram puts us in the Nokia era of Smartphones.

Phablet with feature phone specs, yet a contender..

Still for people who do not want to spend a fortune on a phone but still want to use it for basic apps (WhatsApp), browsing, chat and light gaming this seems to be a great option. Not to mention the great talk time thanks to the best in Class battery life.
