Update- Well we have a reply from UMI. Also we spoke to the India representative from the Androidguruz Team in China.
We will post the details of the interview in a separate article. So fans can look forward to the phones positively by this weekend.
Dear UMI,
Well we hoped this day would never come but after millions of status updates, billions of photo updates and gazillions of "This week delivery" promises is it time to say goodbye.
Till now only a single phone has been "Hand_Delivered" by this company while the fate of the rest of the 9000 (and rapidly dwindling) people who booked the phone lies in doldrums.
We are getting more "Phone reviews" by bloggers than the release of the actual phone itself.
A motely crew of people who were lulled to purchase the phones on all your promises are now crying hoarse on your forums for refunds and its been more than a week now? Why this silence?
If you cannot deliver the phone, if the phones have never reached India why the fake promises, planted stories? The average Indian gets a monthly salary which is almost equal (on a average) to the amount you are charging for your product and now their money is stuck in you account for more than 3 months now.
We at India are used to fake promises, from politicians, from administrators, from companies and have developed a thick skin to it all these years. And you took advantage of this? Why UMI?
If you cannot deliver the phone please refund the amounts you have been keeping with you all this while and save whatever little is left of your credibility.
The funny and most unique feature of a common Indian is that we have a large heart and short memory to our little "Problems" and "issues". Please make the refunds UMI and you will see that 9000 more people will book your phones when ultimately the stocks arrive. However if you make one more fake promise or sit silently a few more days then you might face the ire of the silent consumers you have been duping all along, and it will be messy. Androidguruz as a brand might get blacklisted and your future releases in Iocean and Zopo might be a cropper too.
We have written to your parent company UMI China too and await a reply, Its time to end this drama UMI Lest it ends in tragedy.
