Sony Xperia C:First Mediatek powered phone from Sony at 16999INR?

Well the Sony Xperia C was released yesterday and this was one of the defining moments for the OEM as this is sure to be a beginning of a low cost, high spec fightback by the Japanese Company against the waves of Chinese Phone onslaught the Indian Marketplace is facing.
We were sceptical about the launch of the Sony xperia C in the India market as it was rumored to be a China exclusive device. But a brief posting on the official Sony page (now missing) confirmed that the phone was indeed getting ready to launch in India.
As far as the specifications go the phone is a 5inch phone with Qhd display (960*540- 220 ppi pixel density) with a Quad core MT6589 processor, 1 GB RAM, 8MP primary camera and runs Android 4.1.2 out of the box.
The Sony Xperia C is also a Dual SIM phone and will run Android 4.2 Jelly bean out of the box.
With a pricing of 300USD (17999INR) or a more realistic street prices of 16000INR this seems to be the real deal. The Chinese Companies currently in India like Gionee, Zopo, UMI, Jiayu etc need to rethink their pricing strategy now as people will be more inclined to go with an established product like Sony over these brands, some with little or no warranty!
Expected to Release in the market in Q3 we can't help just wait for its release. Unless of course the Chinese brands up their game and stablise the supply, service and pricing in India.
