Android 4.3 demoed on Nexus 4, shows off a faster, power efficient OS!

Android 4.3 was leaked a couple of weeks ago for the Samsung Galaxy S4, however at that point of time we were not able to do a see what significant changes had Google incorporated in 4.3 over 4.22. Now however thanks to pocketnow we are having a hands on quick view on some of the changes in Android 4.3.

Tech site pocket now have installed the Android 4.3 on their rooted Nexus 4 device and done a detailed walkthough of the changes Android 4.3 brings to the table.

Significant changes being
1. Auto-complete in the Dialer
Stock dialer now saves you time dialing a contact by enabling auto-complete in the dialer itself

2. New Emoji Keyboard
Long pressing the spacebar now gives you access to a host of emoticons that were missing in previous versions of Android

3. Bluetooth 4.0 with Low Energy Consumption
The Nexus 4 had the hardware capability but lacked the software for Bluetooth 4.0 thus limiting Bluetooth to v3.0. Android 4.3 has not only bestowed bluetooth 4.0 to the Nexus 4 but also led to significant power saving while using Bluetooth.

4. Improvements in the Camera App
Settings are now placed in a single row rather than in a circle and overall responsiveness of the camera seems to have improved.

5. Better Performance
The Nexus 4 running Android 4.3 seemed a lot more responsive and overall more “snappy” when compared to the same device running Android 4.2. Synthetic benchmarks showed a marked improvement as well.

6. Significantly Improved Battery Life
Battery life showed significant improvement of upto 25 hours on normal use.

Well looking at all this improvements it seems to be a shame on investing on any android device, lets hope the RAM consumption is optimised too by Google so that it does not hog all the memory of the phone and make devices on 512MB (like my canvas2) run it too!
