Intel AnTuTu scores overhyped, Exynos is still king proves new scores!

If you are an android fan and if you were going through all the blogs singing paeans about the latest Intel Atom processor outperforming several ARM-based chips (Lenovo K900) then get ready to be shocked- It seems the performance was after all a glitch and the latest update to AnTuTu has shown a 20pc drop in the scores compared to the previous ratings!!

Now this is a worrying piece of news for Intel and its upcoming bay-trail processor range which were supposed to eat up the Snapdragons and Exynos alive but it seems on the contrary as per work done by Technical consulting firm BDTI pointed out that the compiled code for the Intel processor was not executing all instructions that were intended for the RAM test. This artificially improved the results for the Lenovo K900 smartphone and the Intel Atom processors!

Comparative benchmarks show Exynos on S4 still the king of processors!
To rectify the situation, AnTuTu issued revision 3.2.2 to the benchmark Wednesday (10th July) evening. The resulting scores are drastically different for the Intel processor. The AnTuTu CPU and overall scores dropped by approximately 20 percent, while the AnTuTu RAM score plummeted by approximately 50 percent, as shown in the figure below. All other scores for the Intel processor remain relatively the same. Similarly, scores for the Samsung S4 Oct and Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, both used in the Samsung Galaxy S4, remain relatively unchanged.

It is a classic scenario of "Who_will_Guard_the_guards?" like my stats teacher always used to say, while mobile reviewers blindly trust benchmark scores and ruthlessly rate phone based on them, it is time for the mobile community to introspect and call for better and more genuine benchmarking solutions if honest and unbiased assement of the modern smartphones have to be made.
