Micromax, Gionee, Xolo, Karbonn and all Mediatek Running phones will get Android 4.4 KitKat by May 2014!

Micromax Canvas Knight, Gionee E Life S5.5, Karbonn Titanium Octane, Xolo Q2000- What have all these phones in common?

1. These are current company flagship phones
2. They are powered by MediaTek Processors
3. They have best in class/price features
4. They all run on Android 4.2!

Well the answer is all of the above! But perhaps the most frustrating grouse people out there who have taken the risk of buying an Indian flagship phone over a Samsung, Sony or Apple is the fact that all these phones, despite great hardware, still run on the antiquated Android 4.2 version of Android.

All this is about to change as per a recent report  which claims that the the Taiwanese Chip manufaturing firm will be pushing out the Android 4.4 update compatibility soon to its now famous Quad Core MT6589, octa-core MT6592 and others. 

A premature leak in the internet had already confirmed that all the Micromax Canvas Series phones, with 1GB RAM and above will be getting the Android 4.4 update. This will also be the case for other makers like Gionee, Xolo and Karbonn. This is indeed an exciting development as this promises more action in the software front and Value for Money proposition in comparison to the comparatively hugely overpriced Snapdragon models from other Smartphone makers.
