Micromax Canvas 4: Officially unveiled and as predicted it is a rebranded BLU Life One!

One can't help but admiring at the marketing stunt by Micromax for the launch of their next flagship the Micromax Canvas 4. With the levels of Hype that has never been seen before in the Indian Smartphone scene, It would have made the guys at Apple happy to see their model of marketing being followed to the book here.

So finally the Micromax Canvas 4 is here.. and... hold your breath...come the official specs

Micromax Canvas 4 Official Specifications
Micromax Canvas 4 will with a  Mediatek powered MT6589 1.2Ghz Quad Core processor, 1GB RAM and impressive 16GB ROM. The GPU is PowerVR Series 5XT.

The screen is a beautiful 5 inch HD display with 1280*720p (16M colors with 312ppi) and for the first time ever in the Micromax Canvas series Corning Gorilla Glass 2!

The imaging department is more impressive still with 13MP Auto Focus camera with 4032 x 3224 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch to focus, Image stabilization, face and smile detection,Photosphere,  HDR, Video recoding at 1080p@30fps (full HD). The camera also includes features such as vertical panorama, anti-shake, face detection. The camera, Micromax says the Canvas 4 in burst mode can capture 99 photos in less than 15 seconds.

The secondary camera is a 5MP camera with HD recording capability.

The of the specs are up to date too like 3G (HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100) with speed of 42 Mbps (down); HSUPA, 21 Mbps (up) ;WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 ,USB microUSB v2.0.

The sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, Compass are all there too.

The phone runs Android 4.2.1 out of the box and comes with a 2100mAH battery. The device is 8.9mm thin and weighs and weighs 145gms.

Yeah don't be surprised because this is the same exact specs which GizChai leaked weeks ago! :)

The dissapointment was obvious in the room when this was revealed as many had gone with the hype and were hoping for a Full HD screen with 2GB RAM and a 3000mAH battery!

Special Features
So much for all the hype and hoopla. The bonus being a blow to unlock software and firmware media updates over the air OTA which is well nothing revolutionary.

Video pinning feature, lets users pin a video they are watching to the home screen while performing other tasks. The simultaneous video view can play more than one video at the same time.

Eye TrackingThe Canvas 4 also borrows the eye-tracking feature from the Samsung Galaxy S4 in which looking away from the screen while watching a video pauses the video and resumes play when the user looks back at the screen.

There are also some features like such as flip phone to mute which is commonplace these days

Pricing: As predicted by GizChai weeks ago the pricing is set at 17999INR which is far costlier than any budget phone in the market.
