MIUI coming soon for Mediatek Devices!

MIUI the cool software behind the iconic Xiaomi phones is reportedly working on getting the MIUI magic to Mediatek powered devices. This represents an important step for both Xiaomi and Chinese phones as a whole. Most Chinese devices boast of impressive specs under the hood thanks to the low cost Mediatek powered chips but sport Vanilla android interface often with little or no software upgrades.

Co-developer gtbluesky is said to have leaked this news on micro-blogging site Sina-Weibo. This means that MT6589 powered devices which power most of the flaship devices of Huawei,ZTE, Zopo, Jiayu, UMI, Gionee and hundreds of other phone companies will soon get to taste the awesomeness of MIUI.

According gtbluesky said that the first of its possible adaptation would be on the ZTE V987 , in addition to popular models like ZTE N986, V967S, etc. This news also has credence since the most awaited Xiaomi Red Rice is to be powered by a Mediatek Chip.

MIUI will solve the issue of software updates as this ROM is updated almost weekly and successive versions ensure that you have the latest and greatest Android version on your phone.
