When Panasonic released its smartphone for the Indian market we were disappointed with the pricing and gave it a thumbs down. Turns out it was a branding and marketing strategy by Panasonic to avoid being branded as just another cheap smartphone maker.
The Panasonic P51 is now available at a best price of 19990INR! At this price range this phone comes highly recommended and we give it a thumbs up over the Gionee E5, iBerry Auxus Nuclea Ni and Xolo Play and the Canvas 4.
Here are a few reasons why.
Japanese Build and Quality
Lets face the facts the build and finish of the Panasonic P51 is something no Micromax, Karbonn, Samsung can offer. The sleek unibody design just hits the ball out of the park in terms of design and Quality- something that the Japanese are famous the world over.
The phone is conforms to CE norms which I am yet to see on any other budget smartphone in India.
The Right specs with the right battery life
Ok so the Panasonic P51 comes with a 5 inch HD screen, runs on Mediatek MT6589 processor and has a gig of RAM. You may start telling me that this is something that every other phone in the market has this specs but not the 2500mAH battery. My Canvas2 has a 2000mAH runs from 100 to 15% in 12 hours of usage. Running a HD or full HD or Amoled screen on a 2000mAH battery?? don't kid me!! you will consider yourself lucky to last 6hrs.
Stylus
This might not be one of the the biggest add ons you get on a phone but the Panasonic P51 comes with a stylus and also free magnetic flip cover. This is something not many Indian manufacturers provide, while Chinese manufacturers don't even provide earphones
Dragontrail
The Panasonic P51 comes equipped with Dragontrail scratch proof glass from Asahi which provides good protection against minor nicks and scratches just like Gorilla Glass on several high end smartphones.
Hope the price drops still and then it will be a very very interesting scenario
