Intex Aqua Wonder Quadcore: A quadcore upgraded version of the Micromax Canvas 2??
https://gizchai.blogspot.com/2013/04/intex-aqua-wonder-quadcore-quadcore.html
It looks like the age of the Quadcore has arrived but unfortunately manufacturers do not seem to update the internals to match the processing speed of the Quadcore. Same seems to be the case with the newly released and first Quadcore by Intex, the Intex Aqua Wonder Quadcore at 9990INR (184USD)
While external shell of the phone is an eerie reminiscent of the blockbuster Micromax A110- The Canvas 2 the internals is where the significant upgrade seems to have happened. The dual core has been bumped up to Quad core.
Intex Aqua Wonder: Quadcore with dual core specs? |
The touch button design, internals, camera and even speaker grille placement are eerie Canvas 2 reminders! |
The rest of the specs are as follows
- 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Capacitive touch screen IPS display
- quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor
- Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) OS
- Dual SIM (3G WCDMA + 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE)d
- 8MP auto focus rear camera with dual LED flash
- 2 MP front-facing camera
- 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio
- 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
- 512MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory ( 1.93GB user memory), up to 32GB expandable memory with microSD
- 1800 mAh battery
As you can see these specs are the same as the Micromax A110 Canvas2, except for the lower battery size, upgraded OS, and Quad Core Chipset. No wonder the company claims that it gives a mere 3.5 hours of talktime and about 3 days of standby time. The smartphone comes with four sensors, namely Gravity, Motion, Light and Proximity sensors.
There are also a host of pre-installed apps like Flipkart, Facebook, Google Maps, Nimbuzz, Googledocs and Youtube and freebies like a free pouch and screen guard along with a purchase of this smartphone.
Except for the Quadcore and the pricetag we do not see anything much to get excited about this phone.
Stretch your budget a bit and you could get the Zen Ultraphone which comes with an HD screen too. or if you could stretch you budget and patience then the UMI X2 or UMI S1 are highly recommended.
Or if you are worried about service and branding then the Micromax A116 is still a safe deal, its service networks have drastically improved in the past few years and atleast for a year you are assured peace of mind.
