Nokia 1020:41 megapixel camera with WP8 says its indeed ZoomReinvented!

Nokia today drew the curtains on its much awaited device the Nokia Lumia 1020 the windows phone with a monstrous 41MP camera! The Camera apart from taking the best photos imaginable on a mobile device also runs video processes "over 1 billion pixels per second"

The main USP of this device is indeed the camera and Nokia is not making any bones of this, the Lumia 1020 really shines in its camera software. A new and improved Pro Camera app gives you the ability to change white balance, shutter speed, ISO and focus letting you capture decent photos in various lighting situations.

The smartphone camera also includes the company’s image stabilization technology OIS, and has the ability to shoot photos in a “dual capture” mode, which lets you capture images in different resolutions at once. A special benefit of such a monstrousl camera is the ability to zoom into images without seeing grain or noise. The Lumia 1020 supports up to 6x zoom in 720p.

For those shooting video, image quality isn’t the only concern. The phone also features high-performance microphones to record audio to match the HD video.

A 1.5Ghz Dual core snapdragon S4 processor along with 2GB of RAM (a first on any Windows Phone!) 32GB ROM ensure that you not only have the processessing grunt but also the space to save all those stunning pictures.

The screen is a 4.5" Clear Black AMOLED display of 1280 x 768 pixels resolution. It is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and features Nokia's PureMotion HD+ technology for smoother animations. Super Sensitive Touch technology is present, too, allowing you to operate the phone with gloves and nails. Nokia Glance Screen is available thanks to the Windows Phone 8 Amber update.

Nokia is also offering a Camera Grip shell along with the Nokia Lumia 1020 It comes with a physical camera button, a USB port and tripod-mount support, transforming your phone into a complete camera replacement. And much like its other Lumia phones, Nokia will offer wireless charging covers for the Lumia 1020.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 will be available in yellow, white and black. It will hit AT&T on July 26 for $299.99 with a two-year contract. If you want to be among the first to have it, you can pre-orders your unit starting from July 16.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is then expected to arrive in China and key European markets before the end of the quarter. Nokia plans to ship an exclusive variant of the device with Telefonica to select European and Latin American markets
