GizChai was the first in scene to tip off on the Gionee E6 much before it was released and this time we are back again with another hot piece of news from the premium Chinese smartphone maker. The first among its series of X-Series of Smartphones- the Gionee X817!
The Gionee X817 has taken the best from its predecessors- the Gionee Elife E6 and Gionee Elife E5 and built upon the some key areas where the Gionee E6 was found lacking- like battery life.
The Gionee X817 comes with a large 5.7" HD IPS display with 1280*720 resolution. The body of the Gionee X817 is a unibody made of aluminium. This not only makes the device slim- at 7.9mm but also give a very premium look and finish to the device.
The Gionee X817 is powered by a 1.5Ghz Quad Core Mediatek MT6589T chipset coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage.
The phone runs on Gionee's custom Amigo UI which is based on Android 4.2 for which Gionee provides weekly updates in China and Monthly updates in India and other parts of the world starting with the Gionee E6.
The camera unit of the Gionee X817 is straight out of the Gionee E6 a 13MP unit manufactured by Sony equipped with CMOS, F 2.2 aperture and capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps.
The front facing camera of 5MP resolution is capable of 720p video capture at 30fps and judging by the 5MP camera the Gionee E5 had this one promises to be your best buddy when it comes to taking self potraits.
The Phone comes with a large 3200mAH battery which is great news indeed because other than the Gionee GPad G2, which came with a 3100mAH Battery all of other Gionee models had 2000mAH battery raising serious concerns of Battery life, with the X-Series hopefully Gionee will look at bigger and better batteries.
