Galaxy Note up for pre-order, is it a good deal?

Its official the Quad Core, 2GB, iPad Mini eater the Samsung Galaxy 8.0 (510) is up for preorder for a rather pricey 30,990INR (572USD).

This considering that the Galaxy 10.1 is now priced at 31000-34000INR depending on where you purchase it, we do not see any value at investing a similar amount on a smaller tablet with almost similar functions.

Having said that Samsung is throwing in a free leather cover with every pre order.

The 1.6Ghz quad core Exynos Chip toting tablet has a 8-inch 1280×800 pixel display, and it runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Currently only the white model is with 16GB variant is available, you can expand it via microSD card slot. It also has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera.

The SIM card feature means you can make voice calls too. The only consolation is that compared to the 16GB WiFi+Cellular model costs 29990INR.
