Now whoever said girls could not be good inventors, better take a long hard look at his words again.
18 year old Californian resident Eesha Khare has creating a small supercapacitor that can fit inside a cell phone battery and enable ultra-fast electricity transfer and storage, delivering a full charge in 20-30 seconds instead of several hours.
So what was her inspiration to making such a device?
"My Cell phone battery always dies!" was her answer, now why did all those big phone companies realise this simple concept.
Bonus- her version of the battery runs on 1,00,000 charge cycle unlike the best of 1000 charge cycles on a normal "Smart"phone battery.
Her invention helped her win over 1600 other inventions featured at the Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award with $50,000 prize money at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Now imagine the possibilities this could bring to the Smartphone landscape? This is sure to make a big rush by the Biggies- Samsung, Nokia, Apple et al to make this invention their own.
We are looking beyond though, what if you are able to recharge your electric car next in 5 minutes flat?
The possibilities are endless, GizChai Congratulates Eesha on the wonderful achievement.
