Mediatek MT8135 powered Amazon Kindle Tablets next?

Mediatek is on a slow but sure ascend to Smartphone history, if it is not already. Earlier this month they had officially released a slew of new processors for their upcoming 2013 line up including the famous Octacore processor MT6592.

The low price but comparatively great processor grunt offered by Mediatek has spawned a generation of Chinese smartphones that are a rage the world over. But the company is now planning to take on competitors like Qualcomm by coming up with processors which are as fast and better accepted by more major smartphone manufacturers around the world all the while keeping their low price USP.

Word now out by insiders suggest that Amazon may have a version of their upcoming Kindle tablet powered by the mediatek MT8135 processor. The MT8135 is one of the worlds first Heterogenous processors with big.LITTLE architecture which onsists of two clusters: dual Cortex-A15 cores and dual Cortex-A7 cores. And unlike the original big.LITTLE architecture configuration where only one cluster can operate at any given time (depending on how heavy the workload is), MediaTek's confirmed that it has implemented big.LITTLE MP ("MP" as in heterogeneous multi-processing) in the MT8135, meaning both the A15 and the A7 clusters can operate simultaneously.

The new chip also has support for PowerVR Series6 GPU and  also features a MediaTek-developed four-in-one connectivity combination that includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM, designed to bring highly integrated wireless technologies and expanded functionality to multimedia tablets. The MT8135 for tablets also supports Wi-Fi certified Miracast which makes multimedia content sharing between devices easier.

If the adoption of Mediatek Chip by Amazon is indeed true then Mediatek is indeed on their way to become a globally respected company with likes of Sony, Lenovo, HTC already implementing Mediatek in their products it should not be difficult to imagine a HTC Octacore processor phone with 13MP+ camera, 3GB RAM under 25k anytime soon!
