Lemon Mobiles come with first Full HD- A4, Quad Core phone with Android 4.2 at 17999INR, reminds of the Zopo Zp980!

Lemon Mobiles became the first budget Indian Phone manufacturer to come up with the Full HD (1080p) display with 1920*1080p display phone in India the Lemon A4. This is a bold move by the company who have so far limited their models to the sub 10000INR range category.

The design and the specifications (and price) of the Lemon A4 is reminiscent of the Zopo Zp980 (16GB) version. The patterned back, the slim industrial design, with banded steel side points out that this is nothing but the rebranded version of the Zopo Zp980.

The rest of the specs of the Lemon A4 are similar too, here is a rundown

  • 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) HD IPS display (400+ ppi)
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core MT6589 processor
  • Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • Dual SIM (WCDMA+GSM) with one Micro SIM
  • 13.1MP rear camera with LED Flash
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio
  • 8.5mm thick and weighs 136.7 grams
  • 3G (HSPA+42.2 Mbps; HSUPA: 11.5 Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / aGPS
  • 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 64GB with micro SD
  • 1850 mAh battery

The flip side however is the relatively small battery of 1850mAH which makes it running through an average "Smartphone" day highly doubtful. And a consumer paying 17999INR for a relatively unknown player in the Indian market will be the significant challenge for the phone maker.

On the bright side however we see that the presence of some kind of customer service network over the none of the recently entered Chinese brands like UMI, Zopo, Jiayu gives it slight edge.

But does it mean you will pay 2000 more than the original Zopo Zp980 16GB ROM version??
