Huawei Ascend P6 launching in India Mid-August at 35000INR price tag

Huawei Ascend P6 probably the slimmest smartphone in the world which made its debut a few weeks ago in much fanfare is all set to release in India Mid-August. The main USP of this phone is its impossibly slim waistline of 6.18mm thin!

The Ascend P6 also comes with P6 features a glove-friendly 4.7-inch 720p in-cell LCD and is powered by Huawei's home-brewed K3V2 chipset, with its quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM.

The main camera is an 8MP rear-facing BSI camera with F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro view that enables 1080P full HD video recording and playback. This is enhanced with HUAWEI's own IMAGESmart software, offering contrast and colour enhancement, auto scene recognition, object tracing focus, and the bound to be controversial 'instant facial beauty support'.

There's also a 5MP front-facing camera on the HUAWEI Ascend P6.

The HUAWEI Ascend P6 comese with a 2000mAh battery, assisted by Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) and Quick Power Control (QPC) - which are battery optimisation and power saving technologies aimed at improving battery life.

With tech like this and considering thr metallic build quality it would be ok to say that it would be worth the 35000INR (before taxes) price tag (expected), but will consumers buy a huawei product over a Samsung, Sony, Nokia or Micromax?

“Smartphones is a nearly two-year-old business for us” said Scott Sykes, Head of International Media Affairs, in an interview to fonearena. “We are not a well known brand in India, yes that is true and we acknowledge we have work to do. We know, we cannot rely on word of mouth publicity for devices like in B2B systems".

Well only time will tell if Huawei will make it big in the Indian market too.
